SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY Set Photos Reveal Bloodied Bruce Banner; Female Villain Spotted? - SPOILERS

The latest Spider-Man: Brand New Day set photos reveal a bloodied and battered Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), while many fans are convinced that the movie's mysterious female villain has also been spotted.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is back to shooting in public spaces, and that's meant another wave of set photos. We've had a first look at Sadie Sink's character—who is almost certainly The Punisher's sidekick—and some very blurry footage of Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner.

Now, photographer @UnBoxPHD has confirmed that the Avenger was indeed being taken away in an ambulance. Why would someone who can transform into the Hulk need medical attention? That remains to be seen.

However, as you'll see below, Bruce is looking more than a little worse for wear as he appears to have suffered several wounds to his head and face.

Much has been said about Spider-Man: Brand New Day introducing a "Savage" Hulk, so perhaps he's unable to transform at this stage.

Another photo that's receiving quite a bit of attention on social media featured a mysterious character who many fans are speculating could be the movie's unknown female villain. However, given that this isn't a recognisable actress, we're inclined to believe she's an extra.

Finally, we have a first look at Liza Colón-Zayas's character, widely believed to be Jean DeWolff, alongside the wall-crawler. This appears to be from filming that took place a few weeks ago, not this past weekend.

"I don't know, I’m still waiting to hear," Ruffalo claimed last month when he was asked about appearing in Spider-Man: Brand New Day"I haven't read a script yet. Well, if it does happen, it would be [Laughs] incredible. I grew up with this, and it's changed my life in the best ways."

"Each time, it's a new director, a new world, and it's so exciting," the actor continued. "There's nothing else like it. A TV show doesn't change its world from one director to the next, and that's what is exciting."

Check out these new Spider-Man: Brand New Day set photos in the X posts below.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day shares a title with a divisive era of storytelling, which, thanks to a deal with Mephisto, saw the wall-crawler get a fresh start when his marriage to Mary Jane Watson ended and his identity became secret again. He faced many new sinister foes during that time and was surrounded by an overhauled supporting cast, including Mister Negative, Jackpot, Menace, and Carlie Cooper.

Instead, all signs point to Spidey teaming up with (and at some point fighting) The Punisher to take on a Savage Hulk, with The Scorpion thrown in for good measure.

Several other villains are reportedly set to appear in the movie, including Tombstone, Tarantula, Boomerang, and Ramrod. There's been some chatter online about the Venom Symbiote factoring into the story, potentially setting the stage for Mac Gargan to eventually don the alien costume.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings helmer Destin Daniel Cretton directs Spider-Man: Brand New Day from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Tom Holland leads a cast that also includes Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Michael Mando, Tramell Tillman, Marvin Jones III, and Liza Colón-Zayas. Thunderbolts* star Florence Pugh has also joined the cast.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in theaters on July 31, 2026.

I truly hope someone beats the sh1t out of Smart Hulk and brings back the savage, unpredictable beast.

To this day, my favorite moment is from the premiere two part episode of David Banner transforming into rage-Lou Ferrigno in the chamber trying to bust out and the Elaina calms him down.

Hope Bruce/Hulk are not in much of the movie, I feel they have butchered the character so much that it's damaged any interest I had in seeing them explore them on-screen further.

@Scarilian - will we ever get a hulk not having the gait of an ape, who is an actual worldwide / cosmic threat, who isn't a jobber /laughing stock, who gets stronger the angrier he gets?.....

@SteviesRightFoo - That has been one of my biggest gripes but you can thank joss whedon for that. For some reason he envisions hulk as more of a mutated primate in his mechanics. I prefer when you can tell that there is still an actual human man in there similar to how Nortons Hulk or Even 2003’s Hulk would move. It just created a totally diff type of presence on screen.

Spidey and Hulk were the only two real pop culture level Marvel characters in the '70s and '80s, achieving that "your grandma has heard of them" level. Finally seeing them together in action will be a treat.

I can't believe Spidey could lay a glove on the Hulk so assuming there's another big hitter in this movie?

@FallenThomas - During the J. Michael Straczynski run of The Amazing Spider-Man, Peter Parker discovered a method to kill any gamma-empowered superhero or supervillain, be they the Abomination, She-Hulk, or, yes, the Incredible Hulk (just never has killed Hulk).

Punisher actual DID kill him in the comics however!!!

After Punisher killed Venom and Spider-Man, he went to see the Hulk rampaging through the streets. While Hulk's smashing cars and buildings, Punisher gets him into his sights and fires a tracking device at his back. Then, he simply waits for Hulk to transform back into Bruce Banner, and follows him into an abandoned alley. Punisher shoots Banner in the head, killing him instantly. Again, we'd usually expect Banner to transform into The Hulk and spit the bullet out, but in this version of events, he dies.

ALL of that said, defeating Hulk oft doesn't involve killing him and indeed MOSTLY doesn't and never stays dead thus there are a number of ways they could 'win' a fight with him and more a matter of how and if it maes sense/works for us nerds and the GA onscreen.

@Apophis71 - I get it but none of the above would ever play out in a movie. Certainly not in the current universe / story telling framework they've created.

That’s just a pic of Rufflo at a “No kings” protest after accidentally misgendering a fellow protestor dressed in a giant Unicorn outfit. I kid.

Seriously though, I always loved Norton’s performance and thought he was a much better Banner and Hulk

The mysterious woman looks a lot like Sutton Foster to me who has been in some American tv shows such as Bunheads & Younger but is also a Tony award winning actress who has starred in various plays such as Anything Goes etc.

She also seems to be dressed too specifically if that makes sense to be just some random extra bit I could be wrong.

Anyway I think as unsure as I was with the footage of him in the ambulance since it wasn’t the clearest , I can definitely say thats Ruffalo since i would know that mug anywhere lol.

It could be interesting if Banner and the Hulk got split into 2 seperate forms, resulting in the savage Hulk without the mind of Banner to maintain some form of control.

@6of13 - that could be really interesting and might explain why he’s not in Doomsday as of now.
