Man of Tomorrow is shaping up to be a fairly jam-packed movie, with several other superheroes now confirmed to be joining the Man of Steel on his next big-screen adventure.

Though most are characters that were introduced in Superman (Hawkgirl, Guy Gardner, etc.), James Gunn's DCU sequel will also feature the return of Blue Beetle (Xolo Maridueña) and the big-screen debut of Lanterns' John Stewart (Aaron Pierre).

And, of course, there is a lot of speculation that Adria Arjona has been cast as Wonder Woman, not the villainous Maxima as the trades initially reported.

Gunn was asked about potential "secret characters" in his sequel on Threads.

"It's movie about Lex and Clark. People shouldn't expect substantial amounts of other characters. Things have been blown way out of proportion, and most stuff is just dead wrong"

We assume Gunn is referring to the conversation surrounding Arjona's role being "blown out of proportion," but why all this secrecy if she is playing Maxima?

Arjona confirmed that she filmed her scenes when the movie was "wrapping up" during a recent interview, which may support the rumor that her character - be it Wonder Woman or Maxima - will only have a minor role to set up her next DCU appearance.

"Great experience. We had a nice, little dinner to celebrate. David was there, and Nick was there. I was just happy that it happened as the movie was wrapping up, so we could celebrate the moment, celebrate the movie, and celebrate the reunion with James and Peter. It was really fun."

The Andor star was also asked if she could say "three words" relating to her character that nobody will understand until they watch the movie.

"Well, look... I don't want to lie, but I also want to protect the audience's experience. So, it's a little dance that I'm learning to navigate, and it's hard. It's really hard. I almost got busted [earlier].

Oh my God! Everything that I say is like... I just thought of three, but I just got into the DC universe. I really don't want to get fired, so I'm gonna I'm gonna keep my mouth shut. Is that cool? I'm just so nervous. I'm like, "What?" I have three in my head, which are pretty good, and if I say them, people won't figure them out. But the people in charge will, and then I'm scared."

The plot of MOT will focus on the Man of Steel (David Corenswet) and Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) putting their differences aside and joining forces to defend the planet against Brainiac (Lars Eidinger).

Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), and Maria Gabriella de Faria (The Engineer) have all been confirmed to return, and we recently learned that Aaron Pierre will reprise his Lanterns role as John Stewart.

"At its core, it’s about Clark and Lex," Gunn said in a recent interview. "I relate to both of them. I relate to Lex’s ambition and obsession — minus the murder. And I relate to Superman’s belief in people, his Midwestern values. They’re two sides of me."

Man of Tomorrow will hit theaters on July 9, 2027.

Because he can't fit all of the DCU into his last movie at WB.

Yeah , I’m not really expecting any secret cameos or anything like that tbh…

However as we have seen from GOTG Vol 3 , TSS & Superman , Gunn can manage a seemingly overcrowded ensemble on paper well on screen while still keeping the focus on the main character(s) so I have faith that he’ll do the same here aswell.

Anyway as someone who thought Superman was solid , looking forward to MOT!!.
