A first look at LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian was released during last weekend's D23 (you can watch it below), and as we first reported on SFFGazette.com, Disney+ has now revealed the full voice cast for the animated special.
While The Mandalorian and Grogu star Pedro Pascal will not be reprising his role as Din Djarin—Gavin Hammon (Stranger Things: Tales from '85) takes over as the bounty hunter—several familiar actors are making their Star Wars returns.
Among them are Amy Sedaris (Peli Motto), Bill Burr (Migs Mayfield), Katee Sackhoff (Bo-Katan Kryze), Emily Swallow (The Armorer), Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon), Matthew Wood (Bib Fortuna), Ming-Na Wen (Fennec Shand), Nick Nolte (Kuiil), Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka Tano), Taika Waititi (IG-11/IG-12), and Temeura Morrison (Boba Fett).
Captain America: Brave New World star Carl Lumbly is taking over from the late Carl Weathers as Greef Karga, but there's one casting addition that has Star Wars fans very excited: Timothy Olyphant is finally returning to the Galaxy Far, Far Away as Cobb Vanth. This won't follow up with The Book of Boba Fett's cliffhanger, of course, but the news has still excited fans.
The character first appeared in The Mandalorian's season 2 premiere, with the show revealing that after he discovered Boba Fett's armour, the Marshal of Freetown used it to protect his home. He'd later cross paths with Din Djarin when the bounty hunter came looking for one of his fellow Mandalorians.
A thrilling team-up followed, with Vanth eventually giving up that armour (it later found its way back into Fett's hands), but that wasn't where his story ended.
When Tatooine's new crime boss needed some backup in The Book of Boba Fett, Din asked Vanth for his help. Before he could get involved, though, a duel with Cad Bane ended badly for the hero, and we were led to believe he'd fallen in battle. It seemed like a waste of an awesome character, but the spin-off series had one final surprise in store.
A post-credits scene confirmed Vanth was in a Bacta Tank and about to receive some cybernetic upgrades, a good indication that we can expect him to live to fight another day. Unfortunately, he's been missing ever since, not unlike Boba Fett.
"If I had [talks with Filoni], I wouldn’t tell you," Olyphant said in a 2023 interview. "Honestly, I can tell you that I’ve been very, very lucky with those guys. I’ve only done two episodes and to have only done those two episodes and feel like you’re part of a world and they created such a memorable character."
"I mean, you know, I’m getting away with something here. I did two episodes and I’ve got like four toys out there. It’s ridiculous, and I know it because all of a sudden there are people at the airport with toys. That’s new. But, it was a ball working on those things and those guys know if they call me I’d show up."
"I don’t care if it’s a big giant thing or just to show up for an afternoon," Olyphant added. "It’s a fun gig."
Based on Star Wars, created by George Lucas, and inspired by the Disney+ series The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian is directed by Chris Buckley and written by Michael Price.

LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian premieres on Disney+ on September 2.
