The Batman - Part II: The GCPD Chases Down The Batmobile In Latest Set Videos

We have some more videos from the set of Matt Reeves' The Batman - Part II, as Robert Pattinson's Dark Knight is chased down by GCPD vehicles...

The Dark Knight has definitely done something to get the GCPD's undivided attention.

As filming continues on the Glasgow set of Matt Reeves' long-awaited The Batman sequel, we have some new photos and videos featuring a lot of police vehicles and a SWAT team chasing down and surrounding the Batmobile.

Yesterday, we caught a blurry glimpse of a blonde woman in the Batmobile's passenger seat. There is a good chance this is Scarlett Johansson's mysterious character (she is the only main female cast member, after all), but the quality of the footage makes it difficult to tell for sure.

Whoever the woman is, there's speculation that Batman is protecting her from the cops, hence the large-scale manhunt.

Rumor has it that Johansson will play Poison Ivy, or at least some variation on the flora-obsessed villain. Initial reports indicated that she had been cast as Gilda Dent

As for Sebastian Stan's character, after the quote attributed to the Thunderbolts* star was retracted from the French publication that claimed he said he was playing Harvey Dent, Jeff Sneider has doubled down on his previous report that Stan has actually been cast as twisted serial killer Victor Zasz in this week's episode of The Hot Mic.

Check out the videos at the links below.

Earlier this year, Reeves officially announced the movie's main cast on social media.

The filmmaker confirmed that Robert Pattinson (Bruce Wayne/Batman), Jeffrey Wright (Jim Gordon), Andy Serkis (Alfred Pennyworth), Colin Farrell (Oz Cobb/The Penguin), Jayme Lawson (Bella Réal) and Gil Perez-Abraham (Officer Martinez) will reprise their roles, alongside new cast members Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Charles Dance, Sebastian Koch and Brian Tyree Henry.

Reeves did not reveal the characters Gotham City's new additions will play.

After several previous delays, The Batman - Part II was scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 1, 2027, but was recently pushed back to February 18, 2028.

Loved the first film, especially how it went out of its way to explore the Detective aspect of the character more than any previous Batman film.

Cool…

Given how much police seems to be after Batman , I wonder if he came across this blonde character (if it is ScarJo’s character) at a scene of a murder of a very rich & powerful person but sympathetic to her plight tries to save her but then the GCPD gets on their tail huh?.

Anyway , hopefully this car chase is as good if not better then the one in the first film…

@FireGunn -
It's just adapting the least interesting parts honestly, similar to MCU's Spider-man Home trilogy.

We don't get to see Bruce Wayne's foundation or the inciting incident that made him the way he is. We don't get to see him training. We don't get to see whether he was ever tempted by revenge. We just skip everything interesting. We don't get to see his decision to become Batman. We don't get to see his first villains. We don't even get to understand why he's a good detective.

They've removed the Bruce Wayne persona so we just have an isolated brooding character who doesn't have any definition between whether he's Batman or Bruce in a scene as opposed to if he's wearing the outfit. The films don't even focus on Bruce, it's all just designed to destroy the legacy of Batman.

It's claimed to be a deconstruction of the character, but the franchise currently has only used this as a way to say 'capitalism bad, white people bad, heroes bad' and try to claim every inspiration of Bruce such as his family who raised him with strong values is actually evil. The same shit we see in Man Of Steel or James Gunn's Superman.

First movie was garbage, this one will be garbage too.

I guess it's an obvious enough aspect that it makes sense it'd happen in a Batman movie at some point, but at the moment I'm concerned it's just going to be a smaller stretched version of The Dark Knight.

This scene just reminds me of The Dark Knight Rises, but on a lower scale:

I liked the Batmobile that was reminiscent of the 70s cartoon and I loved the idea of Batman actually acting like The World's Greatest Detective for once but the [frick]ing thing was glacially paced - holy [frick] was it slow.

There's no way of getting around the [frick]ing delays and that the GUNNIVERSE is shambolic AF so what's the [frick]ing point?

@Batmangina - "so what's the [frick]ing point?"

It's pretty much over at this point.

When the Paramount-Warner merger happens, Paramount will ditch James Gunn and focus on Batman solely, because Batman is the only profitable thing in the DC catalogue.

James Gunn's last DC film will be Man of Tomorrow. It's possible he manages to beg Paramount enough that they let him keep doing streaming shows, depending on viewership, but we'll see.

Perhaps the character played by Johansson is arrested after committing several murders. To everyone's surprise, she has information, evidence to negotiate with the prosecution. She has evidence implicating several prominent figures in Gotham's high society in various unsolved crimes. One of them is the murder of Martha and Thomas Wayne.

The prosecution rejects her conditions. Batman, on the other hand, is willing to give her a way out and a new identity in exchange for the information. He cannot pass up the opportunity to solve his parents' murder.

This decision makes Batman an enemy of the prosecution and law enforcement.

@Repian - I like it!!.

If these rich and powerful people ScarJo’s character could be killing are indeed the Court of Owls led by Charles Dance’s character who actually was the one who gave the order to kill Martha & Thomas Wayne then I could see Bruce doing that.
