The Route 29 BATMAN Dies In Tragic Highway Accident

Sadly, last Sunday night, the world lost a great man - Lenny B. Robinson, someone you may know better as the Route 29 Batman, died in a tragic highway accident. Robinson was an inspiration to us all, and his loss will be greatly mourned by many.

The tragic events of this article actually occurred days ago, but seems to have gone unreported on CBM. 51 year old Lenny B. Robinson, also known as the "Route 29 Batman", served as an inspiration to us all, and this writer thinks he deserves more recognition. Hence, this article is being written despite the story breaking earlier this week.

Lenny B. Robinson was an amazing individual. Through starting up his own businesses, Robinson earned a fortune, and at some point, decided he wanted to put that to good use. To help others. And he did that in an absolutely awe-inspiring way - he spent about $5000 on an accurate Batman costume, bought a Lamorghini Gallardo Spyder (customised to be something of a Batmobile-inspired vehicle)(the car was later swapped out for a custom replica of the 1960's Batmobile) and over $25,000 yearly on Batman comics and merchandise that he would give to children battling cancer. See, Robinson didn't aim to be a superhero in the sense that he would go out and beat up the 'bad guys' - he aimed to bring hope to those in need, and he would do that by visiting sick children battling cancer in pediatric cancer wards in the Washington D.C. He also ran a charity, Superheroes For Kids, which you can donate to here.

Sadly, Robinson is no longer with us, as of last sunday night, when he died tragically in a highway accident. When his "batmobile" had engine troubles, he partially stopped in the fast lane, and exited his vehicle to check what was wrong with the engine. Sadly, in doing so, both he and his car were struck by a Toyota Camry, and Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Camry has NOT been charged, and was fortunately left uninjured after the accident.

Lenny B. Robinson was an inspiration to us all, and was truly genuine proof that superheroes do exist. Robinson's funeral has been scheduled for Wednesday in Owing Mills, Md. His loss will be greatly mourned, and all my condolences go out to his loved ones.

@moaia

Yeah, it surprised me no one else had done it on here, I thought they had. I saw @abhiShake comment elsewhere it hadn't gone up yet and that really hit me hard. He was a great man, and so that makes this news really upsetting, but I think he deserved the recognition, and any opportunity to make sure his charity Superheroes For Kids stays out there and his legacy doesn't die with him is one I feel the need to take. It's a great charity, and he was a great man.

that made me tear up :( really a loss. A have a great deal of respect for those who devote time to cheer up people in hospitals, "Patch Adams" style. I have met some and they also suffer a lot with the patients who don´t make it. :(
