Turns Out Joel Schumacher's Not Writing A BATMAN Comic After All

Last week, Bleeding Cool reported that Batman Forever and Batman & Robin director Joel Schumacher is working on a 12-issue miniseries adapting his proposed trilogy of Bat-movies. Well, it appears that rumour has been debunked. Hit the jump for details.

The usually reliable Bleeding Cool scored a scoop recently, with a reliable source informing the site that Joel Schumacher, director of Batman Forever and Batman & Robin, would pen a 12-issue miniseries based on his original vision for a trilogy of Bat-films (including the cancelled threequel Batman Triumphant), with Dustin Nguyen on art duties. This has been doing the rounds online for days now, so it's quite likely you've heard about it, but one person who hasn't is -- Joel Schumacher? It appears things weren't to be believed, as the writer/director isn't planning to return to his infamous Bat-verse... or perhaps he doesn't want us to know about it just yet. Are you relieved that Schumacher is staying away from the Caped Crusader, or are you disappointed that this rumour is just that?

It would have been interesting to see how his Triumphant plot would've worked out, even it is terrible.

It's a shame. As campy as those movies were. They were what they were and I was actually really looking forward to reading this. And am I the only one who would like to see a continuation of TDKRises in comic form?

I know the movies weren't the greatest, but I'd have enjoyed reading what else he had planned. I also would enjoy seeing what Tim Burton would have done with his third Batman film too. So I would be all for these kinds of comics.

It would be cool if every planned/canceled CBM was told in comic book form

Tobe Hooper's Spider-Man
James Cameron's Spider-Man
Tim Burton's Batman Forever
Tim Burton's Superman Lives
Darren Aronofsky's Batman: Year One
Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4
Chris Columbus’ Fantastic Four
George Miller’s Justice League
Joss Whedon’s Wonder Woman
etc. etc.

I was actually excited for it and would've read it. I wanna read a comic book depicting what Tim Burton's Batman 3 would've been like though.
