UNDERWORLD Star Kate Beckinsale Still Wants To See That BLADE Crossover Marvel Passed On

A few years back, Underworld star Kate Beckinsale pitched Marvel Studios on a potential crossover with Blade, and it sounds like the Jolt actress is still keen to see it happen at some point...

The Underworld franchise seems to have run its course, and Marvel Studios is now developing a Blade reboot, but Kate Beckinsale is still hopeful that we might see a crossover someday.

During a red-carpet interview to promote her new action movie Jolt, the actress told Variety that she would absolutely be interested in reprising the role of Selene ("I still have the leather pants"), before mentioning that she did already enquire about a potential Underworld/Blade crossover.

“I really wanted them to do an ‘Underworld’-‘Blade’ mashup. What a duo that would be. I would definitely do that, but I think they just wanted to reboot ‘Blade’ as ‘Blade’ so they didn’t go for it.”

This isn't the first time we've heard about a potential crossover, as Beckinsale previously revealed that the idea was brought up back in 2016 during a fan Q&A at New York Comic-Con. Marvel Studios passed, and there are now plans in place for a Blade reboot from director Bassam Tariq with Mahershala Ali on board as the Daywalker.

Of course, even if Marvel was swayed by the idea, there is the rights issue. Then again, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios came to an agreement over sharing Spider-Man, so you never know!

What do you guys think? Would you be interested in an Underworld/Blade crossover movie?
