SECRET INVASION's Rotten Tomatoes Score Has Been Revealed

The reviews are in for Secret Invasion ahead of its debut on Disney+ next Wednesday, but the show's Rotten Tomatoes score isn't likely to be what many of you expected. Find more details after the jump...

Secret Invasion is now less than a week away from hitting Disney+ and critics were recently given the chance to watch the first two episodes.

Marvel Studios understandably wants to avoid spoilers leaking online weeks in advance, hence why only a third of the series was offered in advance (and even that includes some major shocks and surprises). With that in mind, the following Rotten Tomatoes score is a tad unreliable because, as things stand, a judgement hasn't been made on the entirety of the MCU espionage thriller.

Regardless, Secret Invasion has a respectable 70% score based on 34 reviews.

As a result, it's currently the lowest-rated Marvel Studios TV series on Disney+. The highest is Ms. Marvel with 98%, while She-Hulk: Attorney at Law sits right above this latest effort at 80%.

It's important to remember that additional reviews will be counted over the next week and even more when the premiere drops on Wednesday, June 21. Verdicts will continue to be added to Rotten Tomatoes on a weekly basis, meaning a definitive score won't be generated until six or seven weeks from now.

This isn't the best start, of course, but it seems many critics anticipated this being the MCU's Andor and were disappointed when it was more along the lines of Captain America: The Winter Soldier

"Secret Invasion is the MCU espionage thriller we’ve been waiting for," we said in our review of the first two instalments. "Samuel L. Jackson’s magnum opus as Nick Fury, the show delivers one jaw-dropping moment after another and quickly establishes itself as essential viewing for any Marvel fan."

Marvel Studios hasn't had the easiest time of it with critics during the Multiverse Saga, though Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was widely considered a return to form with 82%. Secret Invasion is a long way off "Rotten" territory and will need to reach 75% to be "Certified Fresh."

I'm always fine if shows are slow burn but as long as they have forward momentum, can see that being the case with Secret Invasion.

Probably will feel similar to Andor for me, which I really liked, despite being more of a Star Wars Casual

Me Marvel was 98%. She Hulk 80%. This just goes to show you that rotten tomatoes doesn’t mean shit anymore.

@ObserverIO - Bingo! Reviews are only for 2 episodes but RT has been doing reviews like this for years. People on here havent figured that out yet.

@ObserverIO - @Vigor - @LukeCage2155 - @BlackStar25 -

Aren't shows given ratings for each episode and the series itself is given a separate score? Maybe based on the average of all its episodes? As the show goes on, I think the overall score will adjust. I could be wrong...

@Variant - Yes! Shows are given ratings for each episode and the series itself is given a separate score...however the only episode that was released was episode 1 and that currently has 60% while the whole series itself has a 66% which should be impossible because none of those reviewers have seen the whole show. On top of that Rotten Tomatoes main way of advertising series is to put the Score of the entire series front and center. As for it being based on the average of all episodes...I would have to do some more research but for the limited research I have done it seems like it doesnt work like that for some odd reason. For instance Severance that has a 97% for a series score has but no scores for Episode 1-9 with barely 8 review for all episodes while the whole series has almost 100 reviews. As for it adjust over time that is inevitable. RT does not have a close date or any specific timetable so you could put in a review whenever you want. Whether its half way through a series or just one episode RT will take it and advertise it as a whole series count.

Seems odd that a rotten tomatoes score is allowed when only 2 episodes can be seen by critics. Doesn't that seem off to anyone else ?

So that means your 5/5 star review from yesterday can also be considered a "tad unreliable", Wilding.

Secret Invasion is at 70%, so it is going up but it could also go down.

Scores less than Ms.Marvel, how bad can it be? That I had trouble sitting through the trailer.

@marvel72 - ms marvel had one of the best pilot episodes of any thing marvel or DC has ever put on tv but it fell apart by the end...so I guess I see where the flying ratings came from
