X-Men: MCU Reboot Reportedly Casting "Native American Or Latino Male & Asian Female" Supporting Roles

Marvel Studios hasn't finished lining up actors for the X-Men reboot, and we now have some details on several supporting roles that are currently being cast...

Marvel Studios officially announced the main cast of the long-awaited X-Men reboot at D23 last month, with Sadie Sink set to reprise her Spider-Man: Brand New Day role as Jean Grey, alongside Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Adam Driver as Nathan Milbury/Mr. Sinister.

More recently, we learned that Gen V and Scream 7 star Asa Germann will play Angel.

The original five team members from the comics are expected to feature, which means Beast and Ice-Man will be cast at some point, but it seems the reboot may also introduce some supporting players to set up future projects in the Mutant Saga.

According to Daniel Richtman, the studio is "still looking to cast a few more roles, including a female role that will have a small part in the first film and a larger role in the sequel, a male POC role who would be either Native American or Latino (they haven’t decided yet) in a supporting role, and an Asian female supporting role."

There are several characters that could fit the bill here, but if Marvel does go with a Native American hero, it will most likely be Forge, Thunderbird, or Warpath. Sunspot is the most prominent Latino male mutant in the comics, but there's also the likes of Empath and El Águila.

As for the Asian female, we'd guess either Psylocke or Jubilee. Of course, we are assuming these characters will be X-Men - there's always a chance they'll be villainous mutants or humans.

We should be getting more official casting news fairly soon, so be sure to keep an eye on CBM for updates.

Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier is set to helm the movie, with Sonny Lee Sung Jin (Beef) and Joanna Calo (The Bear) recently coming aboard to write a new draft of Michael Lesslie's script.

Kevin Feige teased Marvel's plans for the X-Men shortly after SDCC.

"Acquiring the X-Men rights isn't just about... for example, Wolverine is an outstanding character, and we were able to team him up with Deadpool, which is great. But the X-Men are far more than just Wolverine, far more than the original team; fundamentally, it's a universe, a multi-stage saga. Much of that is what we're working towards."

"We’re constantly changing, constantly evolving, but having some guidance helps us act more purposefully, especially with X-Men—it’s already had 10 movies, some very, very good, some I think haven’t lived up to expectations—how do we plan the 'mutant saga' in a very grand way?"

"That being said, we have many more characters to explore in the future—the schedule is already booked until 2042, especially the X-Men," Feige added. "The X-Men have many unexplored characters from the Asia-Pacific region, particularly China, which we're very eager to explore. That's why I'm excited about the X-Men: we can show the world different types of heroes."

if Mr. Sinister will have his Maradeurs or some type of army.... the film would need to add quite a few small villains to fight the X-Men.

I doubt Schreier introduced 10 key x-men members on the first film, even if some are very small roles. I doubt that will be his approach.

@gambgel - Despite wanting to see more characters round out the X-Men, I had the same thought

@blacksocksdaily - Iceman and Beast are more than guaranteed. The X-Men roster would be pretty fine with all the confirmed ones more those two.

so now they need to cast the villains or henchmen.

A native male...Forge, Warpath, or Thunderbird. And an Asian female is either Psylocke or Jubilee. Hmmmm...

*LatinX. How offensive to use the masculine "Latino" in 2026, Marvel.

I could see the female role that’s meant to be a small role in the first film but could be bigger in the sequel being Moira McTaggert (my pick would be either Claire Foy or Jenna Coleman)…

The potentially Native American male role could also be Forge while the Asian female character may be Psylocke but we’ll see.

Anyway whatever the roles are , looking forward to seeing them in the film aswell as the movie itself!!.

@MarkCassidy What about Forge? Native American or Latino?
Forge, Sunspot

We had a smallish version of Warpath in DOFP right? I always get him and Thunderbird confused..

Id rather see live action Forge.

Asian female wouldn't mind seeing Armor on screen someday from Astonishing X-Men

Having people of all colors and nationalities makes perfect sense for this.

Hopefully the Hollywood agenda idiots won’t try to ram in a bunch of trans/gay crap.
