Avengers: Doomsday Star Tom Hiddleston Flustered By Questions About Loki's Rumored [Spoiler]

Loki star Tom Hiddleston has danced around a question about the God of Mischief's potential death in Avengers: Doomsday and confirmed that the Asgardian will play a pivotal role in the movie.

Tom Hiddleston's Loki has faked his death twice in the MCU. The first time was in 2011's Thor, while the second took place in Thor: The Dark World (that was intended to be at least semi-permanent, before reshoots added the sequel's big Odin reveal).

Avengers: Infinity War opened with a very real death for the God of Mischief, when he was killed by a vengeful Thanos. That set the tone and upped the stakes, but time-travel shenanigans in Avengers: Endgame created a Loki Variant who then took centre stage in his own TV series.

That Loki now sits at the heart of the Multiverse, powering countless different realities. It's repeatedly been rumoured that Loki will die again in this December's Avengers: Doomsday, this time at the hands of Doctor Doom as he sets out to create Battleworld.

In an interview with Josh Horowitz, Hiddleston was asked if he believes Loki will come out of the next Avengers movie with almost as many deaths as Sir Patrick Stewart's Professor X.

"I'm not as well-versed in the Patrick Stewart lore," the actor started. "Look, if I keep going down the path of the end of this sentence, I will find myself revealing things that...it depends what you...I'm going to stop. I have to stop."

As you might expect, many fans are now more convinced than ever that Loki will be meeting his maker.

Later confirming that the Asgardian is integral to Avengers: Doomsday's plot, Hiddleston added, "Well, come on. I'm holding the timelines together. We live in a multiverse now, I think. And Loki is the God of Stories. So, there it is."

Regardless of what becomes of Loki this December, he's expected to play a significant role in Avengers: Secret Wars, too. If the villain-turned-hero is destined to die (again), then the Russo Brothers need to find a way to make it count.

In Avengers: Doomsday, beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.

Avengers: Doomsday stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and Robert Downey Jr. Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Mabel Cadena, Florence Pugh, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Lewis Pullman, India Rose Hemsworth, and Wesley Holloway all make their Avengers franchise debuts.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps leads Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn join them, as do X-Men franchise stars Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and James Marsden, along with Deadpool & Wolverine star Channing Tatum.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18.

@TheWinkler - Not me, but I "do" have a blue circular heart attached above white circular "share" icon that sometimes hovers above where I am attempting to type a comment, and this thing will follow it up and down, remaining on top of it while I am trying to shake this thing off.

Grrrrrrrr!

Whether the rumors of him not actually being dead in the end, sans powers, is true or not he almost certainly has to die just so they can mostly shut that door of the multiverse angle in the branched timeline place to focus on the main plot.
