Amazing Spider-Man #1000 goes on sale later this month, and based on what we saw in a recent preview of the landmark issue, big changes could be coming to Peter Parker's world.

Next month, New York Comic-Con takes place at the Javits Centre. A "Spider-Web" panel has now been confirmed for 3.30 pm on Saturday, October 10, and it sounds like Marvel Comics is planning a huge announcement related to the web-spinner.

"It's never been a better time to be a Web-head! Fresh off Amazing Spider-Man #1000, the biggest issue in Spider-Man history, discover what's on the horizon for Peter Parker, Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, and more," reads the panel's official description, "with a look into the future of Marvel's web-slinging heroes, including a major announcement that will turn their world upside down!"

While it appears the news will impact the Marvel Universe's three main spider-heroes, there are unverified rumblings on social media that Marvel Comics intends to finally reunite Peter and Mary Jane Watson.

Whether it's a case of May's memory loss somehow undoing the deal with Mephisto from "One More Day" or a shift meant to bring the comics more in line with the MCU—which has focused heavily on Peter and MJ's romance for the better part of a decade—this would be welcomed by fans. However, nothing is confirmed right now.

Many Marvel Comics executives have been dismissive of the idea that Peter and MJ should be together, but fans have been vocal about wanting them together. Spider-Man needs to grow up, so perhaps the publisher's new Editor-in-Chief, Stephen Wacker, will make that happen?

These panels have also been announced by Marvel Comics:

Marvel Comics: House of Ideas - The House of Ideas is ready to blow the roof off NYCC! It's a New Day for the House of Ideas and tomorrow is on full display in this all-new, all-different panel with wall-to-wall announcements, major reveals and more surprises you'll never see coming! If you want to know what's next for Marvel, you won't want to miss this (…but remember: "next" is only the beginning!)

Marvel Comics: Bullpen Bulletins! with Stephen Wacker - Stop right there, conventioneers! You found the big one! The Bullpen is back in action as all-new Editor-in-Chief Stephen Wacker charts the thrilling future of the Marvel Universe for the first time…and probably gets in trouble for saying too much!! From bold publishing moves to groundbreaking storytelling, Marvel's Bullpen crew is ready to burst into tomorrow, and this is where you'll hear the first rumblings of what's being built inside the House of Ideas!

Marvel Comics: The Midnight Hour - Welcome to the Midnight Universe.
