Over the weekend, a familiar rumour resurfaced about Marvel Television developing a detective series. There's a lot of speculation about what may be a multi-episode TV show or a one-off Special Presentation, but we now know of at least one character it won't revolve around.

According to Daniel Richtman, despite speculation to the contrary, it's not going to feature Tony Masters, a.k.a. the original Taskmaster from the comics. Marvel Studios is reportedly planning to revisit the "Taskmaster" character, but not here.

Despite that, multiple social media scoopers are reporting that Luke Cage and Iron Fist will be its focal point, finally bringing the Heroes for Hire into the MCU.

Richtman has also debunked reports that Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus appears in Avengers: Doomsday and says there "aren't any unannounced live-action Spider-Man movies in development, since they cancelled all the spin-offs." The animated Spider-Punk, Spider-Woman, and Venom movies remain in the works, though, as do other live-action streaming series.

Interestingly, he also writes, "I do think Sony could consider making [The Amazing Spider-Man 3] after Secret Wars. Maybe they just wouldn't call it that, [though]." Andrew Garfield has said he's willing to make a comeback, so now we wait and see whether this leads anywhere. For now, we expect to see Peter #3 in 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars.

Over to a less trusted source now, and James Mack has shared an update on claims that Doctor Doom kills Bucky Barnes in Avengers: Doomsday. The villain tears his arm off...the flesh-and-blood one, not the metal version. That's going to be brutal

As for @MyTimeToShineH, they've shared a couple of familiar rumours today. "I have heard from sources that Bill Skarsgård (IT), after missing [out] on Charles Xavier, is in talks to play another role in the MCU," the leaker writes, later adding, "Wagner Moura is still up for a big role in the MCU."

Moura has expressed interest in playing Mister Sinister, a role that's since gone to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actor Adam Driver. With an X-Men reboot on the horizon, there are plenty of characters who need to be cast, leaving the door open for both him and Skarsgård to make their mark in the MCU.

In Avengers: Doomsday, beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18.

@RolandD - UPDATE: For the first time since Spider-Man: Brand New Day opened worldwide on July 31, The Odyssey has emerged triumphant, taking the #1 position at the worldwide box office during its eighth weekend in theaters.

With a global total of $45.96 million, Christopher Nolan's fantasy epic managed to beat the Sony Pictures/Marvel Studios co-production's still-impressive $44.1 million haul.https://comicbookmovie.com/spider_man/spider_man-brand-new-day/update-spider-man-brand-new-day-labor-day-weekend-box-office-another-record-looms-for-tom-hollands-spidey-a229742

A detective show could just be another Jessica Jones series or maybe even Dakota North since she’s also a PI but would love if its indeed Heroes For Hire with Luke & Danny since they have investigated things in the past aswell…

In regards to Bill Skarsgard and Wagner Moura being up for roles in the MCU , I could see the former as Blackheart or Blackout who are Ghost Rider villains while the latter could make a good Sebastian Shaw imo!!.

Will the Brit’s and gen puss weenies ever stop pining for ASM 3?

The 2 ASM movies were terrible, and Garfield was a lousy Peter Parker.

These people are as bad as the Snyderheads who think Zack will come back to retake the DCFU again.

Nope. Sorry. Bill Skarsgård will ALWAYS be Deviant leader Kro from THE ETERNALS. To bring him back in any other role would be more blasphemous than RDJ coming back as Dr. Doom. 🤪😁
